Taj Mahal is a warm, creamy quartzite with soft taupe and light gold veining that drifts across the slab. It has the gentle movement people love in marble, in a neutral tone that never feels cold.
Quartzite is a natural stone that is harder than granite and much harder than marble. It handles heat well and resists scratches, so it works in busy kitchens. Most quartzites need sealing to protect against stains, and we seal them at installation.
Because the veining runs in one direction, we lay out the seams on the actual slab with you, so the pattern flows around corners and down a waterfall end.
It looks best with white, cream or greige cabinets, warm wood islands and brushed brass or champagne bronze hardware. A full-height backsplash cut from the same slab shows off the veining.

Natural stone slabs change often, so contact us to see which Taj Mahal Quartzite slabs are available right now. You can pick your exact slab before we cut it. See samples at our showrooms in Woodbridge, Stafford, Fredericksburg and Charlottesville. We measure with digital laser templating, cut every piece on our water jet CNC in our own shop, and install 5–7 days after templating with a 1-year workmanship warranty. We also remove your old countertops and reconnect the plumbing.

Yes. Quartzite is one of the hardest natural stones, so it holds up well to heat, scratches and daily cooking. Like most natural stone it should be sealed to protect against stains.
